Description
Celestite, also called Celestine, is a strontium sulfate mineral first reported in the 1790’s. Its name, derived from the Latin caelestis, means “celestial” or “heavenly,” and refers to the sky-blue color commonly exhibited by its crystals.
Celestite is found in Egypt, Madagascar, Mexico, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
